NCEA Programme
The New Zealand NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) is a flexible and internationally recognised qualification that provides pathways to universities in New Zealand and around the world.
At Garin College, our curriculum is built on the NCEA framework and offers a wide range of subject choices across academic, creative, and practical areas. Students are supported to select programmes that align with their interests, strengths, and future goals.

English Language Support
Our specialised English Language Learning (ELL) programme offers targeted support to help students improve their English quickly and confidently, ensuring success across all subjects. Our goal is to ensure every student feels confident using English and is well supported to succeed both academically and socially.
ELL support is also integrated into classroom learning, with additional guidance available in subjects where language may be more challenging. Our dedicated international teacher aide works alongside students in class, providing translation support where needed, helping ensure students understand their learning and are able to achieve in their subjects.
Cultural & Outdoor Experiences
Students enjoy a wide range of experiences both on campus and beyond, including school holiday trips, ‘Journey’ camps, a quality outdoor education programme in a region renowned for its vast array of stunning natural landscapes to explore, sports tournaments, house games, and a variety of cultural and creative activities, events, and celebrations.
These experiences are an important part of life at Garin College, helping students integrate and build friendships, grow in confidence, and make the most of their time both inside and beyond the classroom.
